I truly believe setting goals and targets is essential for personal improvements because this allows us to narrow our focus down to the certain things we actually need to be done. By planning a goal ahead, we can learn what are the habits we need to master and what are those we should avoid.
Since I am a blogger and none in my family ever been in online business before, I consistently feel the necessity of teaching myself newer knowledge. Ever since I was a child, I’ve always wanted to create something. I believe my attempt to become an entrepreneur is a step toward my personal fulfillment. So, the more I am observing the world and learning more of the ability I can achieve to serve a whole community, the more I’m feeling the necessity of improving myself.
For this reason, I have decided to divide the habits I’ve yet to master down into smaller chunks and form them into a set of monthly goals. Setting a limited number of goals each month will allow me to make use of the days in a month properly to focus on one thing at a time.
From now on, I will publish a list of monthly goals each month and let my audience know what are the sections I’m working on. For those of you who are interested to know how I tend to work and what are the patterns of addressing a problem of mine will get much insight.
Among these goals, I’ll be mostly working on:
Improving my writing and speaking skills
My academic studies (Since at the time I am writing this blog, I am a Computer Science major student at SUNY Plattsburgh)
Self-improvement (For instance, meditation, or exercise)
Learning Programming in a self-paced manner
Making contents for website
As I’ve observed myself in the last couple of weeks, I mostly spend my time doing one of the above-mentioned things. However, I’ve never kept track of how long I usually spend for each one of those, and what are the things I miss among them, the coming month (February 2017) will be a month I will supervise myself and thus will learn the skills I’ve yet to master.
My personal goals for my next month are mentioned below. If you have any comment or concern, please let me know in the comment section below:
Practice Programming every day for 2 hours;
Read a Programming, or self-improvement book every day;
Work on my college education;
Write a blog post every week (By the end of the month, I will have 4 blog posts);
Make a YouTube video every week (By the end of the month, I will have 4 videos to publish on YouTube);
Meditate for 30 minutes every day;
Make a daily routine and maintain it.
I will work on these seven goals in the coming month and reveal everything I will learn along the way on next month’s ‘Monthly Goals’ blog post.
In meeting those goals, I will be using the Wunderlist app which will assist me to cross out the thing I will have done, and keep the focus on the remaining tasks. Also, as I will be reading books, those of you who want to know my recommended books, click here and join my Book Club.
